COURSEWORK
WASA students take part in aviation coursework that is taught by actual pilots, bringing real-world experience directly into the classroom. Instructors draw from their professional backgrounds to connect lessons to real aviation operations, industry standards, and current practices. Learning from seasoned pilots gives students authentic insight into aviation careers while reinforcing safety, professionalism, and effective decision-making. Hands-on, industry-driven instruction ensures that WASA students are receiving practical instruction in preparation for careers in aviation.

INTRO TO AVIATION
The Intro to Aviation course gives freshmen an exciting first look into the world of aviation while exploring a wide range of career pathways, including professional pilot, air traffic control, aviation management, and aviation maintenance. Through engaging coursework and hands-on learning, students begin to understand how the aviation industry operates and where their interests may lead. Students in this class frequently visit professional aviation environments and participate in extracurricular aviation opportunities outside of school, allowing them to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences and discover the many possibilities available in aviation careers.

FLIGHT TRAINING
WASA students are able to take advantage of discounted flight training through our valued aviation business partners at Cherry Ridge Airport, making early flight training more accessible and affordable. An especially meaningful aspect of this partnership is that many current students receive flight instruction from WASA graduates, creating a powerful cycle of mentorship and success. This unique connection allows students to learn from instructors who once sat in their seats and now work in the aviation industry, reinforcing the program’s real-world impact while inspiring the next generation of aviation professionals.
The WASA Aviation Coaches and Educators (ACE) program provides students with meaningful, individualized mentorship from professionals actively working in the aviation industry. ACE pilots, air traffic controllers, and aircraft mechanics partner one-on-one with students to help them identify strengths, explore career options, and map out clear, achievable pathways toward aviation professions. Beyond career planning, ACE mentors share firsthand experiences, industry expectations, and practical advice, helping students build professionalism and gain a deeper understanding of the aviation world. The program is designed to inspire, guide, and empower students as they take purposeful steps toward successful and rewarding careers in aviation.
